Bluenose Coast

Our first port of call on this ever-popular tour is Peggy's Cove.  Here you will have time to capture one of Nova Scotia's signature shorts of the Lighthouse, majestically sitting atop huge great slabs of granite which have been smoothed by years of the rolling surf of the North Atlantic.

From Peggy's Cove we will continue along the Bluenose Coast (formerly known as the Lighthouse Route) and stop next in Mahone Bay, world famous for the three beautiful oceanfront churches with their steeples gracing the skyline. Without doubt, this is another stop for a photo you will show again and again when you relive your trip to Nova Scotia to friends and loved ones.

When we leave Mahone Bay we will head to Lunenburg, only a very short drive away. Lunenburg was endorsed by U.N.E.S.C.O. as a World Heritage Site in the mid-1990s, and is one of the last towns on the continent reminiscent of the United Empire Loyalists of 1753. Fishing boats come and go, but the only skyscrapers you are likely to see here are the masts of the tall ships which frequent the Port of Lunenburg. We will allow an hour to stop and enjoy Lunenburg after touring the town.

This brings us to the end of today's tour, and we will head back to Halifax.  The approximate duration of this tour is 7.5 hours, 4 hours of which will be spent in the van.

Duration: 6-7 hours
Departure: At your convenience
Price: (1-4 people) $320 (plus hst) **

Halifax - Hubbards -
Peggy's Cove

This tour gives a good balance of city and rural life in Nova Scotia. Halifax is an historic city with a very cosmopolitan mix in modern times. It is moving ahead and is the economic backbone of Atlantic Canada - home to several universities, and an international shipping port. We'll take you right out to the city to visit Hubbards a lovely quaint community with a few unique shops and a lovely beach before heading back along the very scenic coast road to Peggy's Cove. Here the lighthouse is the focal point and the Atlantic Ocean sits precariously in front of us. We will then continue to follow the coastal road back to the Halifax where we will tour the city and all of its historic not-to-be-missed highlights.

Duration: 6-7 hours
Departure: At your convenience
Price: (1-4 people) $260 (plus hst) **
Additional people: $20 per person (up to total of 7 people)

Two Days

Seven Bays

Day 1:
Our journey begins in Halifax and takes us to the fertile farming Annapolis Valley. Here we find farmland producing juicy apples and giant pumpkins (in autumn) and many different grapes which supply the award-winning wineries that we are able to stop at for tastings and tours. There is plenty of history here too with the 1755 deportation of the Acadians, and if you like we can stop at the incredible Grand Pre National Historic Site.

From there we will head to the Bay of Fundy stopping at Hall's Harbour, where the tide has reached a height of 45 feet! This small community is home to a significant lobster catch each year, and - if the mood strikes you - lunching on lobster overlooking the harbour is a highlight many people have enjoyed.

We'll cross the peninsula of Nova Scotia and head to the world reknown UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, which is where you will be spending the night. With plenty of delicious restaurants, cafes and pubs you are sure to find a delicious dinner in line with your own personal tastes. As a local, Greg your driver is more than able to recommend the perfect place to dine. If you're lucky you'll have an opportunity to catch some live local music, or the Fish Factory's famous Wednesday night live ceilidh. There are plenty of options for accommodation in the area to suit any budget - we are happy to make a recommendation.

Day 2:
We'll pick you up at your accommodation and tour the town -- or perhaps you might rather join Lunenburg Walking Tours for an entertaining tour on foot, or Trot in Time Buggy's and see the town by horse drawn carriage.

Next we can either drive to the small fishing village of Bluerocks, or head to Hirtle's Beach where we can hike Gaff's Point or perhaps go for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean. From there we will head into Mahone Bay - a picture-perfect quintessential seaside town. This is a great place to grab some lunch or you might rather wait until we arrive in Chester - our next port of call. A Loyalist Village with beautiful homes and sailboats, and the town in which much of the tv show Haven is filmed. From Chester we will visit Queensland and then Peggy's Cove -- a visit to Nova Scotia isn't complete without a stop there! Walk to the lighthouse or go for a romp on the rocks if you like. From there we will continue along the scenic route and return you to Halifax.

Are you wondering what the seven bays were? Bay of Fundy, Mahone Bay, Rose Bay, Bayport, Kingsburg, Lunenburg & St Margaret's!

Bay of Fundy
& Annapolis

Departing Halifax, we travel first to the Town of Wolfville, once known as Mud Creek due to the vast acres of mudflats exposed at low tide.  This Minas Basin town is home to Acadia University and some of the finest farmland on the continent.

If you desire, we often stop at Grand Pre, which is the historical site from which the Acadians were deported back in 1755. We then travel over North Mountain to the Village of Hall's Harbour, where the tides have reached 45 feet in height, and you will find the fishing boats either floating on the beautiful blue Bay of Fundy or resting on the mudflats far below the wharf.

We then visit Cape Blomidon for its outstanding view over the Annapolis Valley, and finally a stroll through the Botanical Gardens at Acadia University before returning to Halifax.

Often, if time allows and the people on board are interested, we stop at a wee dairy farm for some absolutely delicious local homemade ice cream before our drive back to Halifax.

** Our pricing - unless otherwise stated, our prices are for 1-4 people and do not include local hst tax. This is a group rate which is divided between the people in the van. For example: the full day tour along the Bluenose Coast is $320 plus tax for up to 4 people - therefore if there are four people in your group it works out to $80 per person. Additional people are $20 each up to a maximum of seven people. So if there were seven people in your group, a full day tour along the Bluenose Coast would only be $54 per person - you won't find a cheaper full day tour of the Bluenose Coast!!
